FISL is the largest cultural event in the State of Nuevo León and a meeting point for local, national, and international world-class artists. It takes place at Parque Fundidora, which offers families in Monterrey an urban space for relaxation and recreation. The location of our show was a body of water known as Lago de las Olas, part of the extensive Santa Lucía canal.
The Mictlán Legend tells the story of Pedro, a person who grew up and lived his life like anyone else. At the moment of his death, he meets a hummingbird that takes him on a nine-level journey that makes him reflect on his life, facing unexpected challenges to finally reach Mictlán, the place of the dead in Aztec tradition. The story provided the audience with all the necessary historical details, but told through contemporary means. A different perspective to approach the themes of life and death from Aztec philosophy.

Sietemedia provided the artistic direction, the story and music selection under the production of the Canadian company Laser Quantum.
The creation process of the show was supported with current artificial intelligence tools to accelerate and deepen certain parts of the 16-minute performance. 30% of the visuals were created using traditional methods like 3D animation.
Combining both techniques helped reduce production times and increased the creative potential of the graphics. A powerful mix combining these techniques with the water physicality.
